Hot Swap Support for Natural Access™

Hot Swap Support for Natural Access™

The Natural MicroSystems “hot swap” CompactPCI is the industry’s first network interface and DSP resource board for high-value voice processing and telecommunications switching solutions. By fully supporting the “hot swap” specification the CompactPCI Alliance Generation Quad T1 and E1 boards provide the high availability and reliability required of PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) infrastructure equipment.
This product is the first of a family of the Natural MicroSystems CompactPCI products that enable the development of highly available, ruggedized PC-based PBXs, IP gateways and Intelligent Network Services based on Microsoft Windows NT Server and UNIX.
Auriga engineers developed the CompactPCI “hot swap” specification. This specification defines a process for inserting and extracting boards without adversely affecting a running system and notifying running applications about these operations. Auriga also contributed to the development of specific Hot Swap drivers for NMS AG family boards (CPCI form factor) and implementation Hot  Swap specific infrastructure for CT Access 2.1 based on Microsoft Windows NT platform.
Tools and technologies: Windows NT 4.0, UnixWare 2.1.3, Solaris C, Assembler (x86)
