Auriga ranked No.25 among Russia’s software development providers

Auriga has been ranked No.25 in the list of Russia’s software development providers for the year 2007. Topped by Microsoft, with SAP AG and 1C Company ranked No.2 and No.3, respectively, this list makes part of the Russian IT Companies rating by the privately-owned media holding KOMMERSANT published on March 31, 2008. Auriga also comes in 8th among Russia’s custom software development companies.

The KOMMERSANT independent ranking serves as a benchmark to measure the strength of the Russian IT industry as a whole and by segments. The companies were ranked in four categories, including Russia’s software development companies, IT service providers, IT equipment manufactures, and distributors and resellers. The rating also comprises a list of Russia’s largest IT companies.

KOMMERSANT ranked Russia’s leading IT companies using the Business Performance Index. This index is a tool for measuring a company’s profitability and growth. The Business Performance Index was calculated for each company for a defined period of time, and was based on the following key criteria: total company revenues, company headcount, revenue-producing employees, the number of contracts, and the number of affiliated companies.

According to the study’s findings, the combined revenues of the companies that participated in the rating amount to 70% of the Russian IT market, which grew around 30%-31% in 2007. Significantly, the software development sector has been the fastest growing segment of the market, with a growth rate of 46% in 2007. KOMMERSANT analysts stressed that their rating points to the Russian IT-market’s healthy growth.
