“It is Not Enough to Know How to Code”: Auriga at the SouthCamp Conference in Rostov-on-Don

Auriga’s top executives took part in the SouthCamp Conference held in Rostov-on-Don on May 31–June 1, 2014, which attracted over 300 people. The event focused on the IT business as a whole and software development technologies in particular, and it was designed specifically for software developers, architects, testers, IT managers, and startups.

Auriga’s Founder and President, Alexis Sukharev, and the company’s General Manager, Vyacheslav Vanyulin, were among the keynote speakers at the conference. Their joint presentation “It is Not Enough to Know How to Code” covered the interesting topic of the essential skills expected from a software engineer in today’s world.

More specifically, the presentation referred to such crucial software development aspects as the ability to follow up the engineering processes, collaborate with an engineering team, analyze information, and build communication with team members and the client’s representatives.

In conclusion, Alexis Sukharev and Vyacheslav Vanyulin presented the real-life challenges they have dealt with while performing projects and together with the conference participants explored the reasons why any project can go wrong.

The SouthCamp Conference covered the most relevant topics in the area of IT, including Cloud Technologies, Big Data, Java Embedded, and Ruby-on-Rails. Junior software developers had a chance to learn more about the subtleties of copyright issues and contractual arrangements with employers. Finally, all participants were able to join workshops on cross-platform development and OS Solaris administration and take part in a startup project contest.
